The BEA Family!
At BEA, we’re more than a student organization—we’re a supportive community. Our members collaborate and grow together, both personally and professionally. Whether it’s through workshops, networking events, or social outings, you’ll find a welcoming and inclusive environment. We also know how to have fun, with events like yacht galas and Lake Tahoe retreats, ensuring our members balance hard work with unforgettable experiences and lasting friendships.
Our Story
BEA@B was founded in the Summer of 2022 by six UC Berkeley students passionate about understanding how people's real-world experiences and behaviors intersect with the economy and businesses.
As avid learners and seekers of new knowledge, these students recognized that there was a lack of opportunities on campus to explore the intersection of economics, psychology, and sociology. In response, they founded BEA@B as a unique space for students to learn about and discuss these topics, as well as connect with industry professionals and build valuable connections.
The club has grown and now includes a diverse group of students from various academic disciplines who share a common interest in the behavior and decision-making of individuals and organizations.
Our Values
We seek to inform ventures in economics and business with evidence from psychology and other sciences and a solid commitment to furthering sustainability and equity. We are strongly committed to being environmentally responsible and socially informed in our projects and club affairs. As incoming leaders, we hope to gain experience working with businesses and research and the most pressing problems affecting our globalized, complex economy.

FAQ's
I don’t know much about behavioral economics. Can I still apply?
Yes! We welcome anyone interested in the topic. We provide training in behavioral economics concepts and methodologies to all new members.
I’m not an economics major. Can I still join?
Absolutely! Our members come from diverse majors, from computer science to English literature. We value creativity and original perspectives.
How can I meet BEA members before applying?
Join us for coffee chats, which you can sign up for via the link in our Instagram bio (@beaatberkeley). You can also meet our members at info sessions, the case workshop, and the product + diversity panel mixer.
What is BEA’s recruitment process?
Complete our application form (linked on the "Join Us" page). The process includes a behavioral interview, a case interview, and a social round. We focus on understanding how you think rather than testing your knowledge.
